Mortals - song lyrics

And when all the roses die
And the last of us have lived our lives
They'll be spaceships in the sky
For a few of them
To give Mars a try
No more prom, there's no crows
Should have bought the electric car

Oh, mortals, oh mortals
Where did all go so wrong?
Didn't think this far on
Can barely think about today
Mortals, oh, mortals
Didn't do nothing wrong
Just tried nothing alone
Don't wanna laugh along today

And I'll see you in the park
Saying last goodbyes
To all your dogs
Maybe we'd have hit it off
If old Mother Earth
Hadn't got so hard
But I can't worry about descendants
Whilst I worry about my feelings

Oh, mortals, oh mortals
Where did all go so wrong?
Didn't think this far on
Can barely think about today
Mortals, oh, mortals
Didn't do nothing wrong
Just tried nothing alone
Don't wanna laugh along today
Don't wanna laugh along today

Where my little clothes
Check up on my phone
We are not alone
We are not alone
Take my shopping home
Wash my kitchen floor
There might still be hope
There might still be hope

We took our trousers off, the socialists asleep We talked and talked for hours, it was really deep You're a kind of angel, dancing by the table I was doing fine, then I met you I don't need a sign, what will, be will be Let's go start a life, somewhere in the weeds I am usually able, but your effect is fatal I was doing fine, then I met you I was doing fine, but then I met you

All of them Dreaming strange inventions in the shade 30 mile an hour domestic winds Blow away my nice domestic things The ground is full of improbable vegetations Black and heavy branches cut the sky Mechanisms work behind my eyes What a mystery (mystery) That I could want you still It's a mystery (mystery) That I would pick you ten out of nine times The water's cold All the red fish leave my feet alone Crush of people walk along the street The perfume they wear smells good to me And what a mystery (mystery) That I could want you still It's a mystery (mystery) That I would pick you ten out of nine times

Over me and over you I came by to say I'm confused about last week when you said "Hello, we should go to Tokyo" I think about you quite a lot At least enough to question what is causing me To think so much about someone it keeps me up and If you rip open my heart you'd see A whole lotta' blood and arteries But if I'm talking romantically You'd see space for you I remember at the pub The tea towel hanging at your butt You said I should come by sometime And so I came that very night I read a book I didn't like I was approached by some old guy he Bought me a glass of cheap wine He had a piano on his tie and If you rip open my heart you'd see A whole lotta' blood and arteries But if I'm talking romantically You'd see space for you If you rip open my heart you'd see A whole lotta' blood and conquered arteries But if I'm talking romantically You'd see space for you You'd see space for you

In the pipes of this city The rodents open up their eyes The hover trains begin their lives Like I do without you I argue with my toaster I wear my jeans a hundred days Most intimate I've been of late Is a pat-down at the airport And I want what I can't have, but I don't want what I can And that's the recipe for being alone I wonder through the market square People selling Kraków tours But the minimum's for two people I walk on like before I crawl onto chapel steps Just me and my hundred apps I look around at no one else And no one else looks back And I want what I can't have, but I don't want what I can And that's the recipe for being alone Yes, I want what I can't have, but I don't want what I can And that's the recipe for being alone

Dead girl got her face up to the sky now Sunk on the street curb it's a bad town New things to cry about everyday, hey This is the city of a million pints and pain Grim reaper finally arrives Guess there always is an end to amusement rides I heard a line in a movie last night go No one wants to hear your misery They've got their own Misery Misery Misery Misery Misery Misery Misery Misery Alive girl on a bike riding 51 She never saw the truck coming it's a cruel town But somebody's gotta die every day right Peacetime calls for a human sacrifice Night comes there's light in the trees Guess there always is a moon no matter who's deceased I made a note to myself on my telephone No one wants to hear your misery They've got their own Misery Misery Misery Misery Misery Misery Misery Misery
